COURSE OFFERED

The College offers three years Degree Course in Bachelor of Arts (Honours), Bachelor of Science (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in the disciplines of Economics, Education, English, Geography, History, Political Science, Nepali, Psychology, Sociology, Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science.

Considering the choice of combination stated by the College, the Students are to take up any three subjects from the options given above. Furthermore, it is not mandatory to opt for honours subject at the time of admission whereas candidates are allowed to choose their honours subject (any one from the three subjects taken up) after the completion of their third semester according to their performance/ preferences/ convenience.

The college offers B.A./Honours in Economics, Education, English, Geography, History, Mathematics, Nepali, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology and Statistics, whereas college offers B.Sc./Honours in Economics, Mathematics, Psychology and Statistics only. To obtain B.Sc./Honours Degree, a candidate has to choose Mathematics and Statistics (compulsorily) as two of their optional subjects and can choose between Economics and Psychology as their third option of the combination. Apart from Optional and Honours subjects a candidate has to study Compulsory English in fourth semester (both B.A. and B.Sc. Honours), Environmental studies in Fifth Semester and Eastern Himalayan studies in Final Semester (B.A./H), whereas students of B.Sc./H will study Eastern Himalayan studies and Environmental studies fourth and final semester respectively.

Eligibility:
Candidates who have cleared CBSE/ISC/WBCHS/SSC or any exams equivalent to 10+2 level with 45% of marks are eligible for B.A./Honours course. Whereas, for B.Sc./H course, a candidate has to have Mathematics as one of their subject in 10+2 level.

Hariyo Pariyo:
Apart from the regular curriculum and co curricular activities, the college observed Green Mission day once in a year as per the College Co curricular Calendar normally during rainy season. All the students are involved in the activities like planting of new Sapling,weeding and feeding of already planted sapling to maintained greenery in around the college campus. For this purpose, a sum of Rs6/-(six) only per semester are collected from all the bonafied students of the college. The college has separate joint account in the name of the Principal and the Coordinator of Eco – Club. The collected amount will disbursed to meet the expenditure for carrying sapling provided by State Forest Department Nursery, buying pots, gardening equipments etc.

Awards and Scholarships:
Since the College is fully funded by the Government of Sikkim, the institution does not provide any kinds of Scholarships from its disposal to the students. However, college will arrange to provide financial support to the students through different schemes of the State and Centre Government and University Grants Commission.
All the students of Sikkim having Certificate of Identification/Sikkim Subject falls under the category of Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, Other Backward Classes (both Central and State List) and Differently Able are entitle to draw a scholarship of Rs. Respectively from the State Welfare Department.
All the students belongs to North Eastern state having domicile are entitle to draw Rs5,400/- (five Thousands) only per month for B.A and Rs7,800/-(seven thousand) only per month for B.Sc under ISAN UDAY Scheme Sponsored by University Grants Commission subject to fulfillment of the criteria.
Certificate of merit is awarded to every student securing 60% or more in aggregates.
