IQAC

IQAC has been performing a major role in achieving Academic and Administrative excellence of Sikkim Government College, Rhenock since its inception in 2015. It primarily focuses on overall academic and administrative excellence, to work towards a truly egalitarian and free society of unique individuals bound together by ties of mutual respect and understanding in their pursuit of knowledge, progress and betterment of all which is the vision of the Institution. In order to create an academically sound environment, to promote quality and accountability, the IQAC takes every possible effort to help the college to achieve its goals and objectives, without losing focus on the core values identified by NAAC. The activities carried out by the institution aims to make an appreciable contribution in the process of national development, foster global competencies and inculcate a strong value system. The College has devised its own mechanism for quality assurance within the existing academic and administrative system. The academic and administrative quality of the institution is maintained with the help of various committees, which reviews, reframes curriculum and programs catering to the need of the society.

As per the regulation of UGC NAAC, Sikkim Government College, Rhenock has re-constituted Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on 18/02/2020. The names are as follows:

OBJECTIVES

To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.

The demanding task of IQAC is accomplished through the following process: Disseminating information on the various quality parameters of higher education. Reviewing of the existing programmes and suggestions. Documenting the various programmes and activities of the college. Consolidating the Feed Back responses from students, parents and other stake holders.

  • Development and application of quality benchmarks;
  • Parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution;
  • Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process;
  • Collection and analysis of feedback from all stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes;
  • Preparation and submission of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC.

 

Program Conducted

Following Significant contributions made by IQAC during the current year:

  1. Skill Development Programme was conducted.
  2. Self-defence workshop was organised.
  3. Suggested for Regular Faculties and Education Department recruited 25 faculties.
  4. Faculties are encouraged to participate in international and national seminar, workshop, Orientation programmes, refreshers course etc.
  5. Organised Career Counselling and placement drive for Students
